Capital Campaign Under Way!
With the events on Labor Day weekend, our Capital Campaign is officially under way. Our goal is $950,000, and we will be pursuing various strategies to raise that amount. We received a wonderful matching grant of $5,000 from the Monterey Preservation Land Trust for funds raised in August and on Labor Day weekend. Stay tuned for news of upcoming efforts.
We are receiving donations at present, and we are always receptive to a community-minded implulse. You can print out this Donation Form and return it to us.
In the near future, we will be mailing out information about the plans that our architect, Steve McAlister, has designed. Please be generous when you hear from us.
Seed Money Fund Drive Successful!
This winter we conducted a small, private drive to solicit startup funding from about 4 dozen people from a wide spectrum of supporters: businesses, organizations, part-time and full-time residents. Our goal of $15,000 was surpassed before our target date of March 15, and we also were awarded a grant of $1,000.00 from the South Berkshire County Fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and a gift of $1,000.00 from the Monterey Preservation Land Trust toward our project. This response provided funds in the bank to enable us to pay for the architect's design phase, initial site work and administrative costs for our main fund drive. Many, many thanks to all those who responded so generously.

We mailed our preliminary brochure in the spring, which, in addition to containing basic information about the project, contained a few survey questions to help us in planning and also in applying for foundation grants. The response to the survey has been quite helpful, and we are always happy to have more ideas. So please either pick up and return your filled-out surveys to us via the drop-box at Monterey General Store or Monterey Town Hall, OR fill out the survey online here at this website.
