Monterey Rapid Response Team: Discovery Session

Schedule: Date and Time: Sunday, March 1, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: Monterey Community Center

Description: Join us for an initial discovery session to help form the Monterey Rapid Response Team, a localized network designed to ensure no neighbor faces a crisis alone. Whether dealing with severe weather, power outages, or sudden social and economic shifts, this group focuses on "deep organizing" to turn our collective concern into positive action.

The goal of this initiative is to bridge the gap between formal emergency services and organic mutual aid. We aim to build a structured communication system and an inventory of neighborhood skills—ranging from medical training and translation to access to generators and chainsaws. This first meeting is an open invitation to discuss the direction of the group, identify how we can best support each other, and learn how to coordinate with similar local networks.

We hope you will join us to help build this sanctuary of resilience right here in Monterey. No prior experience is necessary—just a desire to help look out for your neighbors.
